All cameras have different characters at the end of the model name - there is a list of what they mean? It's a jungle to find your way around.

  • Model names are confusing, and they vary significantly between manufacturers. Some manufacturers' names are clearer than others but in general it's difficult to tell from the model number what features a particular camera has. You might pick up some clues (e.g. IR = Infra Red, WDR = Wide Dynamic Range, V = Vandal Resistant, E = External, PT = Pan Tilt, Z = Zoom, W = Wireless), but really you have to consult the camera's specifications list to see what features it has, or use our searchable list of supported cameras to find a camera that fits your needs.
