Better to mask in camera or in SecuritySpy

If one masks in the camera is less data sent to SecuritySpy? Which method is more efficient?

    If you are referring to the video blanking mask (permanently blanking out portions of the video image), then this should be applied in the camera for optimum performance.

    If you are referring to the motion detection mask, then this has to be applied in SecuritySpy, if you are using SecuritySpy's motion detection.
