Green screen

Hi!

What does it mean when I get a lot of green screen?
I have 12 cameras and atleast 2 or 3 blink between a live stream and a green screen?
Lake of cpu power?

    Yeah, some kind of resource issue, 12 cameras is a lot. What do you have for a server? Call up Activity Monitor and watch your CPU, Memory, Disk, and Network while you change settings (resolution, frame rate, motion detection, etc.

    You can close any video windows on the server, that helps a lot. There's a thread here somewhere about reducing server load....

    I've seen it a few times here and there - only when viewing from iOS app, not on the computer running Security Spy - when I've run into that, I reboot the camera, and it goes away
    (so far for me, it has only happened to camera's that have been running for many months)
    What I've run into may be different from what you are experiencing.

    Yes this is typically a resource issue. The main culprit is going to be a poor network connection, which results in dropped packets and therefore bad data that cannot be decoded.

    This happens a lot with cheaper cameras over Wi-Fi connections. Where possible, connect them by wired Ethernet instead.

    Another thing to try is to reduce the cameras' frame rates, and also apply camera firmware updates (if available).
