Anyone running ReoLink camera successfully?

I have a 423 and a 411. Using SS 4.0.7 and best success has been with Reolink preset but experiencing many "interruptions".

Have tried such things as reducing resolution to 1080P and reduced frames/sec.
I'm not a video expert so my attempt at changes has been simply hit and miss and up to now, mainly miss.

In the SS error log:
Error from camera "Reo221", it will be closed. (Failed to decompress incoming video frame 22185,-8969 Image data decompression failed - bad data) Error from camera "Reo221", it will be closed. (22185,-12349)
Error from camera "Reo221", it will be closed. (Failed to decompress incoming video frame 22185,-8969 Image data decompression failed - bad data)

When they run without "interruption" the cameras are excellent. They eventually reconnect but it makes for unreliable viewing via SS. No such "interruptions" with the ReoLink Client.

I've replaced the 423 with a new Axis PTZ for now but keeping the 411 online in the hope that I just have my settings wrong. If anyone is running one without "interruptions", sharing the settings will be much appreciated.

  • I have the same "interruptions" with Reolink-423's, can someone share successful settings?
  • I'm getting the same error messages with 2 Hikvision cameras and 1 Dahua camera.
I'm using the latest beta version of SS on a MacPro
Also the "VTDecoderXPCService" is using 220%-400% of the CPU time and Security spy around 200%. I've found when these levels rise ( sometimes says 600% ??? ) the error messages seem to occur.
  • VTDecoderXPCService 816.6 106:46:54.80 57 0 886

  • I tried the beta version is 4.0.11b7 and Reolink cameras drop connections in SS, ONVIF & RTSP TCP, revert back to 4.0.10 cameras connect but with the above issues.
  • There is a new beta version of SecuritySpy available (4.0.11b8) - please try this one and let me know if you see the same connection issues and/or error messages with the Reolink cameras.
