Motion detect question

I know this has come up before on the forum but I'm still looking for optimum answer. It's the shadow of tree branches on a car at night. It triggers the "vehicle" motion detect. Sometimes I can end up with 200-300 events. See screenshot from the app with the events. The car on the right has the shadow of tree branches on the boot. I have a small video clip but can't attach .M4V files.

What are the best motion detect settings to get rid of this ?

    Hi James,

    There are a few possible solutions to this:

    1. Mask out the car completely. This works well if its resting place is consistent, and not too big in the camera's frame (so there's plenty of other areas to detect motion and trigger notifications/recording).
    2. Disable vehicle detection, and instead rely only on human motion detection.
    3. For vehicles, use presence detection rather than motion detection: you will then get a notification/recording only when a vehicle arrives or leaves.
