Remote access to second camera
I currently monitor 2 cameras at my home address and one remotely from a second property - the single camera was dead easy to set up with ss as all I had to do was input the ip address of the second property and ss at the first found it etc.
i now need to add a second camera but im wondering how it will get set up as if I enter the main up address surely it will just see the original camera?
as I am not going to be able to check if ss sees it until i am back home is there any way of making sure ss will be able to find the second camera? I don’t really want to travel home to find it doesn’t work!

I presume it's a direct connection to the camera(s) at the second property and not through another instance of SecuritySpy at that location, is that correct? If so, here's how this would work:
- Port forwarding is set up in your router, either manually or automatically by the camera, whereby one or more of the camera's services are exposed to the Internet. This would typically be port 80 (for HTTP access / ONVIF / PTZ control) and 554 (for RTSP video streaming). If you aren't using ONVIF or PTZ, then SecuritySpy only needs the RTSP port.
- Port forwarding rules can have different ports for WAN (Internet) vs. LAN (local network), i.e. the router accepts incoming connections on PORT_WAN, but forwards these to the camera on PORT_LAN, which can be different. With just one camera, PORT_WAN is probably the same as PORT_LAN.
- But with two cameras, the PORT_WAN must be different for the second camera. For example, you could set up the port forwarding rule with PORT_WAN=800 and PORT_LAN=80, and PORT_WAN=5540 and PORT_LAN=554. The second camera would be accessible from the Internet on ports 800 and 5540.
- This would have to be configured manually in your router: first create a DHCP reservation for the camera so that it always gets the same IP address, then create the port forwarding rule.

Thanks very much for the detailed reply, I ended up getting a Ring camera (it was a bit of an 'emergency case' that only required motion detection and I couldn't figure it out for myself) but am now looking at adding another 'proper' camera linked to ss so I can record 24/7 so I am sure this info will be invaluable.
