Using a Raspberry Pi to view SS

One good solution for this is to install Android on the Pi - then you can use our Android app.

Thanks Ben. I'm not inclined to go that route. Was hoping there was a native Pi app that would work.

Hi Jeff, I'm afraid not, and there wouldn't be enough demand for us to create a dedicated app for this this I'm afraid. However, Chromium (which ships with PiOS) should do a pretty good job with SecuritySpy's web interface - have you tried this?

Hi Ben,
Somehow I missed your second comment. I'm able to view an individual camera with my Pi browser, but I'm more interested in being able to see several cameras at once using my Pi to drive a small screen. Something like the official Pi 10" touch screen, which I can place conveniently in my house.

Hi Jeff, perhaps this would work:
- Follow our guide Create a Screen Saver With Your SecuritySpy Cameras - this gives you a URL to a page that displays several cameras at once in a simple grid.
- Open this URL in the Pi browser.
Any good?

I'll give that a try Ben. Sounds promising!

A Bit late here, but I'll add that we've been running a POE connected Pi 4 in our entrance hall closet for a few years. its central job is to display SecuritySpy's images from the builtin webserver. We also keep tabs running for individual cameras.
it's connected to a Dell P2418HT which happens to be a touch screen. easy setup, high WAF.
