Trigger settings based on the time?

Hi Ben,

This may be a feature request. 

We have cameras that cover areas where we need to have different trigger settings based on the time. For instance during the day we want to know when a person is detected, but don’t need to know about every squirrel, rabbit, cat, bird, etc. At night we need to know when a person is detected, but also raccoons, large cats, predators in general. 

Is there a way to achieve this that I’m not seeing?

Thanks for having a forum where we can ask questions and read about others experiences. I have learned much from just hopping by on occasion.

    It's currently not possible to have different trigger settings at different times of the day for the same camera, but there is a workaround, which is to add the camera twice to SecuritySpy. If you use the same device settings, SecuritySpy will recognise this and will not count the second instance towards the license limit.

    Then you can set Actions mode on the first camera instance to the "Armed Sunrise To Sunset" schedule with only human detection enabled, and the second camera instance to the "Armed Sunset To Sunrise" schedule with both human and animal detection enabled.

    This is possibly more than you were hoping to do, but there is a plug-in for Indigo home automation (Mac-based) that talks to SecuritySpy. It can modify sensitivity (and a few other settings such as ptz, active/passive, etc.) via the SecuritySpy API on a schedule, or on actions, or via a large number of other criteria. I have one of my cameras change sensitivity based on sunrise/sunset as you describe. But that might be a much bigger task than you really want to undertake.
