What is the best strategy to track audio events?

I noticed the settings to trigger audio events but they are not searchable in the browser so I assume it is there for recording clips or notifications? All five of my cameras are H.265 with AAC audio with the internal noise filters turned off. We have a concrete driveway in the front of the house and a U shaped asphalt driveway on the side of the house that is facing the main road. Since we put the three cameras up on that side we have not had any more bricks through car windows, abandoned vehicles or massive amounts of trash on the lawn. But some noise issues remain and maintaining a journal to then go look it up is time consuming and I am lazy.

I have proper signage describing video and audio security recording and now record my neighbor's drive across the street per his request since someone recently shot the window out of his van with a pellet gun. I love all my neighbors but some total tools drive around the area.

With all the AI detections turned on and continuous recording active on all cameras I am surprised the CPU hovers around just 15% for five cameras on my cheap M1 16GB RAM Mac mini.

    Currently there is no way to search for audio events. No one has actually asked for this before, which is why it hasn't been implemented! But I do agree that it is a good idea, and would be useful for exactly the kind of situation you are describing. I'll see what we can do for the next update.

    Just wanted to say I logged in tonight for a similar question. We have a neighbor with incredibly noisy dogs (at all hours), they refuse to do anything about it, so our next step is to gather evidence of the length, volume, and timing of the barking so we can submit a complaint to the City DA.

    Right now none of my cameras record audio, but I would gladly buy a new one or some other outdoor audio device compatible with SecuritySpy if it means I can calibrate a reasonable threshold and let it gather the data I need.

    Hi @Richard - SecuritySpy can already record audio from cameras, and it can trigger recording based on audio level detection, which sounds like the features you need in this case.

    The previous question was about searching for captured footage - currently there is no way to search for audio detections in captured footage, but we're planning to add this feature soon.
