Notification setting is missing from SecuritySpy App on iPad 7 v15.3.1

Hello,

I noticed that I was receiving notifications on my iPhone 12 Pro v15.3.1 without issues. The notification settings show both in the SecuritySpy settings and Notification settings on the iPhone. But, they are not showing on the iPad. The iPad is not receiving any push notifications from SecuritySpy. I can receive push notifications from other apps without issues on the iPad and they're notification settings are visible and available to set on the iPad.

I have tried uninstalling the app, reinstalling the app, resetting location and privacy settings, rebooting the iPad, and simple power down and power up. No matter what I try I cannot get the Notification settings to return within the SecuritySpy app. Previously, I had this within the app on the iPad. I think what broke this was updating the IOS to v15.3.1. Can't be for certain though. I even tried restoring from a previous backup and that did not help.

Is anyone else having issues like this? Is there something else that I can try?

    Hi Frank, I'm not immediately sure what this could be. When you tap on a camera's live view in the SecuritySpy iOS app, and then tap the gear icon in the bottom right, the menu that pops up should look like this, and should include an "Enable Notifications" option:

    Is this what you see? If not, what are the options that you see in this menu?

    This also does depend on notifications being enabled at the system level, at Settings > SecuritySpy > Notifications.

    It would help if you can post screenshots of both screens so that we can see what you are seeing. If you prefer not to post these in this public forum, please email us instead for direct help.

    Hello Ben, Went through your troubleshooting from here: helpfaq.html

    After going into the camera settings, the notifications weren't on. After turning on, bingo.

    What I don't understand is why this would have reset initially. I even went as far as wiping my iPad out and starting over.

    Hi Frank, glad to hear you found the solution. I'm not sure why this stopped working (assuming it was turned on initially), but erasing and reinstalling the SecuritySpy app could be one thing that would cause this setting to be forgotten.
