Run as a daemon process
I think this has been asked before but might there be a way running SS as a background process which runs when the machine boots but without the requirement to logon.
Many thanks

While not technically meeting the 'without the requirement to logon', this method will:
"With this setup, the Mac logs in automatically, opens SecuritySpy, and then returns to the lock screen. SecuritySpy continues to run in the account, behind the lock screen."

I have a vague recollection that the auto login also requires that your drive is not encrypted with file vault - or at least an external drive may prompt for password - something like that. I will have to check - thanks

Yeah, you didnt mention encryption, which I also use, so I still have to type my password.

Unfortunately SecuritySpy can't run as a daemon process, mainly due to its user interface but also several other ways in which it currently works. The auto-login with the script to go back to the login screen is the next best thing, but obviously this won't work if you have anything that requires a password to be entered manually.
