How to be more granular about auto-delete?
I been doing motion-activated capture for years. I set SecuritySpy to delete them after 7 days, giving me time to review files if something happened while I was away. Now I want to do 2 things with my cameras. I want to do continuous capture, and have those files purged after 2 days because they will be huge. But I want to continue doing triggered captures from the same cameras, and keep those files for 7 days. There doesn't seem to be any way to set this up.
One way would be to color-tag files that I want excluded from auto-delete, and delete those myself with an external script, but I can't auto-tag my files. Another way would be to save the triggered captures to a different directory than the continuous ones, but I can't do that either.
Any ideas how I can accomplish this?

Unfortunately it's not possible to specify different auto-deletion settings for Motion Capture vs. Continuous Capture files, however there is a workaround:
- Add an extra USB drive that you will use exclusively for Continuous Capture recordings. A basic USB 3.0 or 3.1 drive would do just fine (ideally a 3.5" 7200 RPM HDD from a reputable manufacturer). Use our calculator to work out what size of drive you will need.
- Add each camera to SecuritySpy again, with each instance of the same camera having identical settings under Preferences > Cameras > Device. As long as these device settings are the same, SecuritySpy will recognise that there are duplicate devices, and won't count the additional instances towards your license limit.
- Set these new instances of each camera to record Continuous Capture files to the new drive, and leave the first instances of each camera recording Motion Capture files to the original drive as they have been doing already.
- Now you can set different auto-delete settings for the two drives that are now in use, which will achieve what you want.
- To avoid seeing duplicate cameras in your live views etc., use groups. -
