Can I delete one of these folders?

I just discovered I have a Security Spy folder at the root level of my user in addition the one that's been in the documents folder forever. Had 50GB of video saved there I didn't know about.... can I safely delete one of these folders? All my (intentional) saves go to a different place on an external.

    Assuming you're using SecuritySpy version 5 or later, you can safely delete the one within your Documents folder - the one that SecuritySpy uses is the one in your Home folder. Older versions did create one in the Documents folder, but this caused problems for iCloud "Desktop and Documents" file syncing, so we changed the location. When updating, SS should have moved the folder, but perhaps this didn't work at the time for some reason.

    Thanks Ben, I wonder why I don't get notified of responses here lately.

    So I'll need the folder in "documents" if I have to launch SS3?

    Yes, I believe version 3 used the location in the Documents folder - if you opened v3 after running v5/v6 that could explain why you have one in both places.
