Remote Access & Unifi

I had remote access set up and working without issue. Upgraded to a UDM Pro from a USG. Used all the same port forwarding rules I had set up on the USG. Now I am unable to access SS remotely. The Test button from the Settings->Web page shows green. What else can I do to troubleshoot?

  • I you have indeed opened the ports and pointed them correctly at your Security Spy machine, my suspicion would fall towards issues with dynamic DNS.

    I am assuming you are testing the connection from OUTSIDE your LAN and accessing from another network system through the WAN.

    Not assuming you are testing from within your LAN's. In that case, I'd also be wondering about whether loop back is enabled in the router.

    Assuming from outside and through WAN....

    Did your internet service change your external IP address to when you switched to the UDM Pro? If so, did the dynamic DNS service you are using update itself to the new external IP address and has the new address had enough time to propagate?

    You can test by connecting to your actual public IP. That would bypass any dynamic DNS issues and isolate to port forwarding being incorrect.
