T-Mobile 5g Home Internet

I have a T-mobile home internet service at a remote site with 2 Wi-Fi ip cameras. The T-mobile device acts as a modem/router but offers little to no control over the router. No port forwarding options, no port options at all for that matter, nothing except maybe changing the SSID. Is there any way to get security spy working with such a closed setup? Remote viewing being the primary concern.

I’ve had security spy at my primary residence for years and have loved it.

thanks,

Paul

  • This guy suggests using a VPN with port forwarding

  • Yes, a private VPN is usually the best option for remote access in this case. We have full information and instructions in our article Remote Access Without Port Forwarding.

  • Cool thanks Ben, I’ll check it out!

Yeah it really sucks that cell companies use IPv6, literally infinite IP addresses, but they won't let users use those IPs as static public IPs. No good reason for it. Just corporate laziness and greed. I remember the good ol' days when you could ask your ISP for a class C address space to go along with your ISDN/DSL line.
