ViewCam - Video size

Hi,

any plans to provide the option to use a given video size? This is what I am currently doing by using Security Spy as a Viewer remotely to save some bandwidth.

    I've successfully moved several MacMini viewing stations to ViewCam and rely on video size to reduce bandwith, i've found that utilising the built in URL Generator located within your main Security Spy console within your menu bar at Window>URL Generator will allow you to select camera, video size, FPS inc authorisation etc.

    Then you can generate a url that should be accesable from your LAN that you can paste directly into ViewCam to provide this functionality. ViewCam will automatically select the manual configuration profile for the camera, and populate the 'request' box. I find ViewCam perfect for quick live viewing in these circumstances becasue all the superfluous options are not present as in the main SecuritySpy application as they're not needed.

    The only downside is that you have to generate a URL per camera as it does not auto add all cameras from the server but i can live with this, only took a couple of mins for my 18 cameras.

    Hi @JC_5674 great to hear this is working so well for you. Currently there is no width/height option available in ViewCam because almost no IP cameras support this, but perhaps it would be useful for us to add this for the case when you're pulling video feeds from SecuritySpy - it would save you from having to generate streaming URLs for each camera when you want a lower than maximum resolution.
