Moving from a 2012 Mac Mini to an M1 Mac Mini

I thought I had read this topic here but could not find it; I may be mistaken.


I purchased a new M1 Mac Mini and plan to switch SecuritySpy to it. Can I do a migration and expect it to work or are the steps more complex? I suspect the M1 binary of SS will need to be installed. Are there steps to migrate SS to this new computer without losing all my settings?

    If you use Migration Assistant to transfer to the new Mac then everything should be moved over automatically and work the same, including SecuritySpy. And assuming you are using the latest version of SecuritySpy, this is a universal app, with both native Intel and Apple Silicon code, so you don't need a different version of SecuritySpy for the M1.     Everything went without a hitch. I made sure all the apps were up to date, migrated to the new Mac, moved the alarm connections and IP address to the new Mac and BINGO. Thanks for such great, stable software.
