Hey @Ben,

Have you ever considered adding the beta release channel to the built in updater as a user opt-in selection?

    This is available as a hidden option: click the SecuritySpy menu, and from the Debug submenu, select Change Software Version. Here you get a few choices including the latest release build and the latest beta.

    Very cool. Does that change what's used by "Check for Updates" or is that the route I'd need to go each time I wanted to apply a beta update?

    It doesn't change what the normal auto-updater will offer (i.e. if you select Check for Updates), but it is an easier way to apply new beta versions if you know they are available.
