Migrating from an Intel Mac mini to M1 Mac mini

I’m maxing out my current intel Mac Mini and thinking if upgrading to an M1 Mac Mini. I’ll be moving the Intel Mini to another site with fewer cams, 8 in continuous capture. I was wondering, if I can just restore from a time machine backup to switch over to the M1 mini?

A Time Machine restore will also restore all of SecuritySpy's settings, but if you don't need to do this for anything else, then it's easy to transfer the settings across yourself following the advice in this FAQ: How do I move SecuritySpy from one computer to another, retaining all settings?
