Saving images to a different location that video footage
Hi all
Ive included this question in an email to Ben but thought Id ask here too..
Ive got SS recording motion video footage and image snaps to a 12TB NAS...Works great
Is there any way SS can record video footage to one folder location and save image snaps to another?
Say:
CCTV/backyard/15.10.2021/video/somewhere
CCTV/backyard/15.10.2021/images/somewhere/else
Instead of vid and images in the same folder?
Was thinking of pointing image captures to a onedrive sync or similar for offsite storage as Im having issues with corrupted images on my websites hosting at the moment
I know I can point the cams themselves but would like to keep SSs browser and file naming in place
Thanks
Sq

Currently, each camera saves all its files (movies and images) to one single location - it's not possible to specify a different location for different files for the same camera. A workaround for this would be to add the camera twice to SecuritySpy, then once instance can record movie files to one location while the other instance can record images files to a different location. If you use the same settings under Preferences > Cameras > Device for the two instances, SecuritySpy will recognise that they are the same and will not count the additional instance towards the license limit.

Hi Ben
Thanks for the idea but everything looks a bit messy in the camera window vie when adding cameras twice...
I'm sure the issue I've emailed you about isn't a SS issue now, I'm going to look into other online storage solutions for this..
Thanks again

You can get around this by using group windows instead of the "All Cameras" window - see Group Windows.
I'll check for your email. -
would a folder script work that moves the file to your online storage folder if file type = jpg?
