A User Friendly suggestion

From what I've observed, if continuous capture isn't enabled for a camera in SecuritySpy preferences, arming continuous capture in the iOS app for that camera doesn't do anything. It would be nice if the iOS app warned the user that continuous capture isn't enabled on a camera.

  • Thanks for the suggestion, although I'm not sure that any changes are required, for two reasons. The first is that continuous-capture movie recording is enabled by default, so for almost all users (i.e. all those who haven't specifically turned this off), arming Continuous Capture will result in recording.

The second is that the C/M/A indicators have specific colours that give feedback: blue means that the mode is unarmed, orange means that the mode is armed but in a state of waiting with no recording or actions happening, and red when the mode is armed AND recording or actions are happening. You should see that if no continuous-capture recording options are enabled, and you then arm this mode, the C indicator is orange, not red. This shows that recording is not taking place.
