Captures are not appearing in iOS app

Greetings

In the last week or two, the captures from our server have stopped reliably being available in the Security Spy iOS app. Symptoms include…

-No Captures at all
-Limited captures (e.g. last 2-3 captures)
-All Captures

I’ve tried rebooting the server, rebooting the iOS devices, etc. with no luck isolating the issue.

Has anyone else seen this?

Hi Ryan, without further information, my first guess is that the captured files could be being deleted at a faster rate than you expect. We have seen some systems get into a situation where the baseline amount of free space on the capture drive is lower than the threshold where automatic file deletion is set to in SecuritySpy under Preferences > Web. When this happens, files are deleted soon after they are created.

Could this be happening here? If you open the Browser feature in SecuritySpy on your Mac, does this show all the footage, or does this show the same amount of footage as you can see in the iOS app?

If this isn't it, please email us and we will investigate this for you. Please send us SecuritySpy's debug file (SecuritySpy menu > Debug submenu > Create Debug File On Desktop and log file (File menu in SecuritySpy > Open Log).

Thanks for the quick reply.

I’ve confirmed the browser shows the same files as the app.

I’ve also confirmed that the available drive space is greater than the delete old files by space (68gb avail, 20gb threshold).

Is there something missing as this just started happening after 2 years of being ok.

In that case it should not be due to automatic file deletion, but it's difficult to tell what the problem is without further information.

Please email and include the files requested above. If you can also use the Dashboard feature to generate some graphs of camera data rates (average) and recording rates (average) for the previous day, that would also be useful to send us.

Diagnosed something odd with disk space filling up/not deleting and then permissions changing to read only. Looking into it to see if it is a drive issue
