Update:
I can now connect via cellular and router when Mac is connected to router. I cannot connect when connected to Lynksys Velop. I had it configured so I could connect in amy way I wanted but the local extended connection now fails. -
It sounds like you may have a double-NAT situation; this is basically when you have two routers in your system. It's undesirable because it complicates the network setup, and means that some devices on different parts of your network cannot communicate with each other.
The solution is to switch one of your routers to bridge mode. To switch the Velop system to bridge mode, please follow the instructions in this article: Setting up your Velop system in bridge mode.
Before doing this, verify that your router (i.e. the device in between the Velop and the Internet) is actually a router, and not just a modem. You do need at least one router on your network.
