T2 chip support & re-encoding to HVEC

Any thoughts on supporting the T2 in the new Mac mini (and other new Macs) to have captured video re-encoded to HVEC? Any testing?

    Hi Frank,

    This will be supported when we add HVEC support to SecuritySpy, though whether it's the CPU or the T2 chip being used for this is up to lower-level system code.

    However, any re-encoding does cause a certain amount of loss of quality, so it's typically better to capture the data from the camera directly to the movie files. This also ensures lowest CPU usage.
