iOS App usage via VPN

I have found that if I VPN into my home network my Security Spy iOS app cannot see/connect to my server. My VPN does put me on another subnet (a pool of addresses that are assigned to remotely connected users). Is there a way to get this to work or does the app have to be on the same subnet as the Security Spy server?

    Hi - we have general instructions for when connecting using a VPN in our app's user guide (see Connecting Over a VPN). However it sounds like your situation may be a bit more complex than this. Devices on one subnet cannot communicate with devices on a different subnet unless there is a router connecting the two subnets together. So unless this is the case, the app and your SecuritySpy server need to be on the same subnet.
