Dynamic DNS name
Hi, I have just recently done a fresh os install on my iMac and also reinstalled SSpy. I have added all previous device settings without a problem but in >>Preferences >>Web I'm not able to use my previous Dynamic DNS name xxxxx.viewcam.me When I press test I get the red light and a notification That DDNS name is not available. The strange thing is that I can still log in to my previous https://xxxxxx.viewcam.me:8001 via safari web browser and still access it so why can't I continue to use my previous Dynamic DNS name?

Same for me, I've just taken delivery of a new iMac (replacing my old one on which SS was installed 10 days ago) and have installed SS on it but get the same result as you. Ideally I want to delete SS from my original Mac and then use the same DDNS on my new Mac. Still in the trial period but intending to buy once the new Mac fully setup.

The best way to migrate from one Mac to another is to follow this FAQ: How do I move SecuritySpy from one computer to another, retaining all settings?. This will carry across all settings, including the DDNS name.
If you haven't (or can't) do this, here's how you transfer the DDNS name:
If SecuritySpy running on the old Mac was licensed: as long SecuritySpy on the new Mac is registered with the same license details as the old Mac, you should be able to use the same DDNS name. So just make sure to register the new Mac correctly. @benodonohue this applies to your case.
If SecuritySpy running on the old Mac is still in trial mode: on the old Mac, go to Preferences -> Web, and change the DDNS name to something random, and click the Test button. You should get a green light. This frees up the name that it was using before. Then, on the new Mac, go to Preferences -> Web and enter the DDNS name you actually want, then press the Test button. You should get a green light. @starlir this applies to your case. -
