iOS 11

Ben,
Obviously it’s beta, but heads up that the SecuritySpy app on iPad will crash if you tap on a video from a camera to view it. Of course it could be iOS issue or something new since they are touting H.265 support in iOS 11. Just thought I’d give you a heads up. Other than that it all looked good on iOS 11. I like it a lot... but won’t run it on my phones yet.

  • Thanks for the heads up - we'll test this here and will fix any iOS 11 bugs we find.
  • Buy the way, could you please check something for us - go to the settings and turn off H.264 streaming. Does this have any impact on the crash?
  • No change... crashes the same.
  • In watching it a couple of times I would guess its crashing in viewDidLoad when setting up the initial view for the playback.
  • OK thanks for the feedback, we will investigate.
  • I don't know if you have ever done anything with TestFlight, but if you come up with some builds and want to test them I'm happy to get involved. I've used it very successfully getting some apps into a beta test for iOS. Is the app in Objective C or Swift?
  • Yes, we use TestFlight all the time internally, it's a useful tool. Thanks for offering to test! I'll let you know when the times comes if we need this. Our iOS app is written using C, Objective-C and Swift.

  • Hi @alinajetly - thanks for posting a possible solution, this is interesting.

It seems likely at this point that the problems mentioned above are bugs in the iOS 11 beta, however we'll continue our testing and will aim to fix any issues in our app before the official iOS 11 release.
