    Hi guys
    I have posted on another thread about my Mac mini, but just for those interested.
    I had major issues with my system being unusable showing 300%+ VT, running 6x 2mp cameras on full record + motion, all set to the same frame rates of 10fps.
    Mac mini 2,3ghz, quad core i7 2012 model 16gb ram.

    I then made a massive discovery a few weeks ago where I found SMC fan control was causing a lot of CPU usage issues as I had it limited to 3000revs, this took the idle cpu from 5% free up to 30% free, but fan was constantly running 5500 revs, and very noisy.
    This week I removed the back plate of the Mac mini and now I am quiet as a mouse, running approx 1800 revs, cpu usage 90% free, and still running all cameras as before and my Mac is like new :)

    I am going to be experimenting with increasing frame rates to see what happens just for interest.
