  • Hi Buzz,

There is a new beta version (4.0.11b8) so please try that. The error message from the log indicates that you are using 4.0.2, but perhaps this is an older message?

How are the cameras connected to the Mac?

How many Axis cameras do you have, and how many are exhibiting this problem?

When this occurs, does SecuritySpy automatically reconnect to the cameras after a short time?
  • Running b8 now with no change.
2 cameras connected via Ethernet at full frame rate. Both Axis cameras with just one, PTZ 214, exhibiting problem via MPEG4. 2nd camera, Axis 1054, works well, H.264
Occasionally, additional error message "DNS resolution failed - could not resolve hostname to an IP address in order to connect to the server. I've used auto-discovered Bonjour address as well as direct LAN IP address with no apparent difference.
  • Could you please try reducing the camera's frame rate and/or switching to JPEG compression (use the Format setting in SecuritySpy and select JPEG HTTP). There is no particular reason why MPEG-4 at full frame rate shouldn't work, but there appears to be some network issue somewhere.

Is your Mac also connected by wired ethernet, to the same switch as the cameras?
