SecuritySpy 2.x is a major update over version 1.x, with many improvements.
Cost and licensing changes
Due to significant new features and improvements, we have decided to release
SecuritySpy 2.x as a paid upgrade for certain users of version 1.x. Users
who purchased SecuritySpy 1.x
on or after 1 Jan 2009 are entitled to a free upgrade to SecuritySpy 2.x. Users
who purchased before this date can upgrade for just 30% of the purchase price
of SecuritySpy 2.x.
Of course, this upgrade is entirely optional. We plan to release updates to SecuritySpy 1.x in the future to provide bug fixes, but no new features will be added. You are welcome to download and try SecuritySpy 2.x in order to decide if you would like to upgrade or not. If you have been using a beta version of SecuritySpy you can continue to use it indefinitely.
Upgrades can be obtained from our online store. Please note that even if your upgrade is free, you will need to visit the online store to obtain a new license code for SecuritySpy 2.x.
Downloading the software
SecuritySpy can be downloaded from here.
The download is in disk image (dmg) format. Once the software is downloaded, you will see a disk image called "SecuritySpy" on your desktop, which should open automatically. Simply drag the SecuritySpy application to your Applications folder, replacing any old version of SecuritySpy that you currently have installed. Make sure to quit the old version of SecuritySpy before you install this new version.

Additional note for unlimited-camera SecuritySpy 1.x license holders
Due to the fact that SecuritySpy 2.x has extensive efficiency improvements,
one computer can now handle many more cameras than previously possible. In
light of this, we have decided to add a 16-camera license option for SecuritySpy
2.x, and increase the price of the unlimited-camera license significantly.
Therefore the upgrade path from an unlimited-camera SecuritySpy 1.x license
is to a 16-camera SecuritySpy 2.x license.
