Triggering actions

You can set SecuritySpy to perform a range of actions in response to motion detected for each camera.

These actions include playing an alarm sound, sending an email containing still images, and launching an application or AppleScript.

By using simple AppleScripts, you can integrate SecuritySpy with Indigo, an excellent home automation application based on the X10 and INSTEON standards. You can trigger actions in your home in response to motion detected by SecuritySpy, or get SecuritySpy to record in response to an event detected by Indigo.

Similarly, SecuritySpy can be used with Salling Clicker, which will allow you to control SecuritySpy from a Bluetooth phone or Palm OS handheld.

You could also get SecuritySpy to use SMS Mac to send a text message to your phone when it detects motion.
