Wander, if it has to do with the latest SS update?

  • Hi-It's kinda unusual for a newer mac to have a Kernel Panic. You have a built in Apple Diagnostics Tool. Check out the Apple website on how to do this with OS Sierra. Should be easy to find the culprit. If you have Apple Care have them walk you through it.
    Much Luck Tighe
  • Thank you Tighe. I will try that.
    Bulent
  • I did run the Apple Diagnostics. There is nothing wrong with the iMac?
  • When I see KP's on a Mac I think three things....

    1. Bad memory (not very likely)

    2. Bad 3rd party driver

I would look in your user and system library folders and only the absolute necessary LaunchAgents and LaunchDaemons are installed. On a fresh system, those are essentially empty. Also, have you installed any drivers for other devices?

    3. Incomplete OS software install. Sometimes you get an unstable system from incremental updates. Download and full Sierra installer from the App Store and reinstall the OS to ensure you have a good install. You'll need to follow up with the update that have happened since the creation of the installer, but at least you will have a good base from which to build.

  • I second @guykuo's recommendation of a system re-install. I think this has a good chance of fixing the issue.
