Swann Camera Compatibility?
I should have checked the SecuritySpy list of compatible cameras before I purchased a SwannEye SWADS-440IPC wireless IP Network Camera because it's not on the list, nor is an IZON/STERN camera I have.
I LOVE THE SECURITY SPY APP! It's by far the very best in class, and works fine on my Mac built-in camera.
I tried manually configuring the Swann camera but to no avail. It "does" show up on my drop down list but won't connect, presumably because it's not an approved camera. I've tried specifying the LAN IP address 192.168.0.4 (static) as well as choosing the drop down name "ipcamera_BC51FE5024C7.local". I am able to access the camera via the Swann Mac software. The streaming is HTTP.
Any ideas or plans to provide drives for any or all of these cameras in the near future?

Comments
- In the Video Device Settings window in SecuritySpy, create a new network device.
- Set the device type to "Manual".
- Enter the camera's IP address but leave the Port field empty.
- Enter the camera's username and password.
- Select "HTTP" from the Format menu.
- Enter "cgi/mjpg/mjpeg.cgi" (without quotes) as the Request
If that doesn't work, try "videostream.cgi" as the Request.
Do either of these requests work?
Wow! You're a genius!
The videostream.cgi request worked!
A million thanks.
I love Security Spy. It's truly a work of art. Amazing.
Keep up the great work.
No I need to order another Security Spy application for my desktop.
I wond if I can run the at the same time?
John
As for your licensing question: each license of SecuritySpy can only be used on one computer at once. However if you want to use SecuritySpy for the purposes of viewing-only (i.e. no recording, using the web server, broadcasting etc.), then SecuritySpy can be used for this purpose free of charge - simply use an unlicensed copy of SecuritySpy with all its cameras in Passive mode.
