Samsung SmartCam SNH-P6410BN, Anyone Using This?
  • Yes, the similar one "Samsung SmartCam HD SNH-E6411BN Full HD 1080p WiFi Camera"
Has HD, wide angle and video picture better than my Vivotek cams, and has audio which they don't.
Have not gotten it to work with securityspy however, seems to be an input # issue, when I have some time to do trial and error, For the price of $79 per at the discount stores, its features offer good cost benefit for HD monitoring.
  • Samsung makes some nice good-value cameras that have high video quality, and there should be no problem using them with SecuritySpy.

However there are a couple of pitfalls to look out for. Firstly you have to register the camera via Samsung's web site before it will work - not a big problem.

Secondly, once you have registerd you are issued with (or choose yourself) a "private key" that acts as the camera's password. However the camera will only recognise the first 8 characters of this for some reason. So when setting the camera up in SecuritySpy, use "admin" as the username and the first 8 characters of the private key as the passworrd.

Thirdly, we have seen that some of these cameras support fixed video stream profiles that cannot be edited. Use the "Input number" setting in the Video Device Settings window in SecuritySpy to select between these, in order to find one that suites your requirements.

    Hope this helps.
