Axis P1428-E

edited January 2015 in SecuritySpy
Hi, would SecurtySpy work also with the 4k camera Axis P1428-E?

  • Just today, I purchased the Axis P1428-E and connected it to SecuritySpy.

SecuritySpy recognizes the camera and is able to show video from it and capture high-res movies.

However, I'm having a few issues. With the camera focused on a static object (little to no movement), every minute or so SecuritySpy pops up the following error:

"There was an error while running the camera "(camera name)" in active mode - it has been set to passive mode (Error code: 817,12 Out of memory, please reduce the pre-capture times)"

If I wiggle the camera to create motion, the error pops up immediately.

This is running on a headless Mac Mini with 16 GB of RAM and 9 cameras actively connected to SecuritySpy (the other 9 cameras are much lower-res). The Mac Mini has a 20-terabyte Thunderbolt 2 striped RAID array connected to it. I've tried reducing the pre-capture time but that doesn't seem to make a difference. I'm not quite sure what limit I'm brushing up against or the best way to resolve it, but have only spent a few minutes testing things out. (Any suggestions?) I'm using "H.264 RTSP-over-HTTP" as the format for the video device.
  • Hi Scott - it's best if we have a look over your settings to see what could be going wrong here. Please bring SecuritySpy to the front and press the space bar three times in a row - a file called "SecuritySpy Debug Info" will appear on your desktop - please email us this file and we'll investigate.
